Legislation
The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 requires the Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) to identify asbestos in the workplace, to identify its location and to pass on all information on any hazards in the building to the building occupants. This could mean all the staff in an office building or workshop who are not directly working with asbestos but work in an environment where asbestos is present. They should be told how it is being managed and the amount of risk that it poses.
Section 17 of the Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016 requires anyone who may come into contact with asbestos to undertake awareness training. This generally applies to trades people.

Who is it for?
This course is ideally suited to trades people and is essential for anyone who may come into contact with asbestos such as: general builders, electricians, plumbers, gas fitters, plasterers, roofers, telecom engineers, computer installers and all apprentices and trainees.

Please be aware that this module is an introduction to asbestos only and does not include details of how to work with asbestos or how to carry out maintenance tasks involving asbestos. Further courses are available for anyone wanting to carry out minor work involving asbestos upon completion of this asbestos awareness module.

Price
Price is $175 plus GST and includes an asbestos awareness passport card upon completion.
Prices are generally based on training between 15 – 20 people at the time at one of our training centres. Otherwise, we can come to your workplace and even tailor the power-point presentation to suite your workplace environment.
